1,968 new COVID-19 cases raise the total PH to 418,818

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 22) – Another 1,968 people in the country have been diagnosed with COVID-19, bringing the overall count of infected to 418,818, according to the latest update from the Department of Health.

Sunday’s DOH bulletin listed the top five areas with the highest number of new cases as Cavite with 107, Quezon City with 97, Davao City with 86, Laguna with 84 and Quezon with 77.

The Health department also said that of the total count, active cases are now down to 5.8 percent, or 24,209, from 33,224 published a day earlier.

This came after the DOH marked 10,957 more cases as recovered, bringing the number of survivors to 386,486.

Meanwhile, the death toll stands at 8,123 with 43 new deaths recorded on Sunday.

The DOH said that of the currently ill patients, 82.5 percent experience mild symptoms, 8.2 percent have no symptoms, 5.8 percent are in critical condition, 3.2 percent are severe cases. , while 0.28 percent are moderate cases.

More than 5.1 million people across the country have been tested for coronavirus, the department’s tracker showed. The country’s cumulative positivity rate, or the percentage of infected of all those tested, is currently at 9.2 percent.
