MANILA, Philippines – The Philippines recorded 1,803 new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Saturday, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases to 380,729.
In its COVID-19 case bulletin, the Department of Health (DOH) reported 42,462 active cases, which is 11.2 percent of the total COVID-19 infections nationwide.
The DOH also reported that 36 more patients succumbed to respiratory disease. This brings the total number of COVID-19 deaths in the country to 7,221 or 1.90 percent of total COVID-19 cases.
Meanwhile, 606 more COVID-19 patients were able to recover, bringing the total number of recoveries in the country to 331,046.
After further validation of their cases, DOH revised their total case count by eliminating seven duplicate cases. Of the number, three are recoveries.
Additionally, 14 cases previously classified as recoveries were reclassified as deaths.
The DOH also reported that 12 molecular laboratories in the country did not submit their COVID-19 count on October 30.
