MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reported 16 new cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) among Filipinos abroad on Monday.
According to DFA, with the new cases, the total number of COVID-19 cases among Filipinos abroad has reached 11,692.
Of this number, DFA said 3,348 are in treatment and 7,497 have recovered or been discharged. The foreign affairs department also reported two new deaths, bringing the death toll to 847.
According to the different regions, 7,544 Filipinos infected with COVID-19 are in the Middle East and Africa; 1,926 are in the Asia Pacific region; 1,383 are in Europe; and 839 are in the Americas.
“The DFA, together with its Foreign Service Posts, continues to partner with host governments to ensure the safety and well-being of Filipino citizens abroad amid the pandemic,” the foreign affairs department said.

Meanwhile, in the Philippines, COVID-19 cases have reached 431,630, of which 24,580 are considered active.
