11 more Filipinos abroad contract COVID-19, cases now at 11,676 – DFA

MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reported 11 new cases and nine additional deaths from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) among Filipinos abroad on Sunday.

According to DFA, with the new cases, the total number of COVID-19 cases among Filipinos abroad has reached 11,676.

Of this number, DFA said 3,334 are in treatment, 7,497 have recovered or been discharged, while 845 have died.

According to the different regions, 7,535 Filipinos infected with COVID-19 are in the Middle East and Africa; 1,926 are in the Asia Pacific region; 1,376 are in Europe; and 839 are in the Americas.

“DFA remains fully committed to monitoring the situation of Filipinos abroad who are affected by the pandemic and stands firm in promoting and protecting their well-being,” said the department of foreign affairs.

Meanwhile, in the Philippines, coronavirus infections reached 429,864 as of November 29.
