Pfizer vaccine being flown on dry-ice-filled United charter plane

A report states that Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine has been flown into the state by United Airlines – including U.S. And trips to destinations in Europe – awaiting approval by the Food and Drug Administration and other regulators.

The first charter flights are part of Pfizer’s efforts to move quickly after getting approval, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Pfizer said Pfizer has final vaccination assembly centers in Kalmazoo, Michigan and P પrez, Belgium, and Pleasant Prairie, Viz., Germany.

Pfizer declined to comment on the WSJ report.

The FAAA said in a statement to the paper on Friday that it was supporting “the first mass shipment of the vaccine” and was working with other airlines on vaccine transport.

The agency told the paper it would allow United to fly five times more dry ice than is normally allowed – 15,000 pounds per flight to keep the vaccine at the extreme cold temperature needed to prevent aircraft from crashing.

The first approval for the Pfizer vaccine is expected to come from Europe, including the UK.

The pharmaceutical company sought emergency FDA approval on November 20.
