Peter Navarro, a White House adviser, was allegedly cut off by CNN host Jack Tapper during an episode of “State the Union” on Sunday after the Trump administration became embroiled in a heated debate over a possible coronavirus outbreak.
The interview taper lasted several minutes with Navraro giving the floor to speak at the start of the sitdown. Things escalated rapidly, however, and the exchange suddenly closed after the conversation turned into a political fight.
“I don’t give you ten minutes to do this,” Tapper said at one point, as Navro walked him through the timeline of the decision. The former ABC White House correspondent then launched a series of attacks on President Trump, periodically interrupting Navraro to refute his issues.
“This isn’t right, Jack. You’re constantly interrupting me and you don’t let me talk,” Navarro fired back, continuing both. When Tapper said he was dodging the question, Navarro replied, “You just don’t like the answer.”
Eventually, Tapper accused the president of lacking transparency with the public and asked Navarro why the government was not more open about COVID-19.

“Why wasn’t the president directly with the American people?” He asked. “It was straightforward,” Navarro replied. “You’re cherry-picking … you just don’t want to hear, Jack.”
Tapper claimed Trump knew [COVID] The flu was worse than “and” two weeks later Americans were lying in public. “
Navarro flipped the script and accused CNN of lying to the American people, which led to Tapper ending the interview.
“You’re not honest with the American people,” Navarro replied. “CNN isn’t honest with the American people. Do you want to go there? We can do that.”
Tapper then thanked him and said that the network’s style of publicly mocking and shamefully reporting on CNN would not change – as Navarro put it, “I answered your question.”

“Okay. Peter Navarro, thank you very much. I appreciate your time today,” Tapper concluded. “And I’m going to remind those Americans to see that the United States has less than one percent of the world’s population, and that more than 80 percent of the world’s coronavirus deaths have occurred in the United States. That’s a fact. It doesn’t matter. How often he insults CNN. Has done. “
