In Montgomery County, health officials say there has been an increase in hospital cases due to other social gatherings, including parties, sleepovers and Halloween celebrations.
“I think if we don’t increase this agility, our hospitals will get into trouble quickly,” said Dr. Valerie Arcus, chairman of the Montgomery County Board Commission.
Delaware County officials are reporting a similar story. On Monday, they say patients at all five hospitals were forced to relocate because they did not reach capacity or did not have enough staff to treat patients.
Delaware County Council Chairman Brian Zidek said, “The main thing is that this is highly relevant. There is a strain on our essential emergency service and health care workers.”
Health officials say there are many people who have the virus but are incapable and inadvertently spread it to others.

“Our goal is to avoid a lockdown at all costs, we know what it looked like,” said Ginny Kasner, Chester County Health Director.
Delaware County Council Vice-Chairman Dr. “We need to understand that this is a wake-up call,” said Monica Taylor. None of us want to get back to the red stage.
The Montgomery County Public Fees of Public Health said they will now vote Friday at 12 noon on whether to start two weeks of virtual-only school from Nov. 23.
The vote was to take place on Thursday morning.
Delaware County is offering free COVID-19 testing to county residents aged 12 and over on November 14, 16 and 17 in Upper Darby and Upland. Insurance is not required.
Results will take up to 48 business times. Residents will be contacted through the phone number given on the registration form.
