Penn State is turning to ‘winter’ season; all Big Ten AD wanted to drop football after all, and more

The current Penn State football signs have more of James Franklin about a possible winter season and a report that Big Ten athletic directors were unanimous in their desire to play in the fall.

Mark Wogenrich of AllPennState sees what Franklin had to say about the Big Ten’s decision to pull the plug on the fall football season. Franklin reiterated last week that he would favor a winter season, rather than a spring start, in an effort to prevent 2021 wear and tear.

Sam McKewon of the Omaha World Herald spoke with athletic director Nebraska Bill Moos in a column he penned over the weekend on Big Ten commissioner Kevin Warren. The column’s message itself was based on Warren’s approach to ending the fall sports season, but Moos added one unknown fact in his comments: every Big Ten athletic director wanted a fall season.
