Party police? British bobbies use THERMAL OPTICS to break party (VIDEO) – RT UK News

Police in Manchester are rolling out some military-grade technology to document a robbery at a party with lockdown-breaking. The cops then called on the public to swallow at similar “illegal large gatherings.”

Greater Manchester Police on Tuesday released a video with an overnight robbery at a house party in suburban Gorton on Saturday. In the white-hot thermal vision normally seen in war zone recordings, a police helicopter as a drone captured the officers moving in force to break up the assembly, throwing something over the back walls to disperse the party-goers.

Police said there were more than 200 guests present, and some called the officers “The rocket” before the party was stopped.

The tenant of the property was fined and demolished with a closure order – which prohibits her from visiting housemates for three months.

Manchester is currently under strict lockdown, with residents banned from meeting people from various households indoors, and gyms and swimming pools are closed. Pubs and restaurants remain open, but mixed groups of households are not allowed to mingle there. The local lockdown was introduced by the government late last month, but the unclear rules sparked widespread anger and confusion.

Local councilor Nigel Murphy described the party as a “Particularly blatant violation of Covid-19 restrictions,” and welcome the police “Difficult action.” Yet long before Manchester was placed under renewed lockdown, forces in the UK and beyond were calling out their Call of Duty-style gadgets to scandalize the public for following quarantine measures.

From police in Australia recording from the dry arrest of three rookies in thermal vision, to British cops using drones stalk dog walkers in national parks, after Singapore’s use of scary robot dogs to bark residents in compliance, the coronavirus pandemic has seen the deployment of some high-tech methods to correlate the population.

Yet gathering human intelligence is still the go-to method for police, at least in Manchester. Following the release of the video footage, Greater Manchester police are urging the public to enter into anyone hosting a “Illegal big meeting” by adding the party’s address in a handy online form.
