The Byrde family is taking their last flight with its fourth season. Netflix announced that its critically acclaimed drama series Ozark It will end with a season 4 “large”, which will have 14 episodes instead of the usual 10 of the program. The fourth and final season will be divided into two parts, each of which consists of seven episodes.
Netflix has officially announced that OzarkThe next fourth season will be the last. The streaming giant revealed that Ozark It will end with a 14-episode “supersized” fourth season, which will air in two parts. Netflix did not reveal when Ozark Season 4 would air, but scoffed that the new season “will mark the final chapter in the Byrde family’s journey from suburban Chicago life to their criminal enterprise in the Ozarks.”
After Netflix announcement, executive producer and showrunner Chris Mundy said in a statement:
“We are very pleased that Netflix has recognized the importance of giving ‘Ozark’ more time to finish the Byrdes saga well. It has been a great adventure for all of us, both on-screen and off, so we are delighted to have the opportunity to get him home in the most satisfying way possible. “
“Ozark is an exciting drama that captivated audiences around the world and garnered critical acclaim, “said Cindy Holland, vice president of original content for Netflix.” We are so grateful to Chris, Jason, Laura, Julia and the entire cast and the team for all their tireless dedication to the show and we can’t wait to see how the Byrdes journey comes to an end. “
The ad comes immediately after the executive producer and star. Jason BatemanIt hints that the acclaimed drama was drawing to a close with the release of Season 3, which premiered on Netflix earlier this spring. Bateman scoffed that the writers operated on the assumption that the show would last “three seasons, four seasons, five seasons, something like that.” Bateman’s vague statement actually turns out to be quite accurate, as the fourth season will be divided into two parts, the latter of which will essentially take the total to five seasons.
Ozark It has been a consistent critical success for Netflix since the crime drama first debuted on the streamer in 2017, with its second season earning Bateman an Emmy for Outstanding Direction in a Drama Series and Julia Garner an Emmy for Best Supporting Actress. Its third season debuted in March with the show’s best reviews so far and is considered a top favorite at this year’s Emmys (should they happen).
Netflix has yet to announce a production start or release date for Ozark season 4.
