‘Owl House’ makes history with Disney’s first bisexual main character

Disney Channel’s animated series “The Owl House” made history with the network’s first bisexual protagonist.

Series maker Dana Terrace confirmed last week that 14-year-old main character Luz Noceda is bisexual.

The announcement comes after the two episodes “Enchanting Grom Fright” and “Wing It Like Witches” were released and showed a thriving relationship between Noceda and a female character named Amity Blight.

Noceda previously expressed interest in male characters and later asked Blight to growl, the version of the witch’s world of prom, where they dance together.

“In [development] I was very open about my intention to put queer children in the lead role. I’m a terrible liar, that sneaking in would have been difficult, ”Terrace, 29, wrote on Twitter. “When we were greenlit, I was told by certain Disney management that I could not represent any form of bi or gay relationship on the channel.”

She added: “I am bi! I want to write a bi-character, dammit! ”

“Fortunately, I deserve my idiosyncrasy and now I am greatly supported by today’s Disney leadership,” Terrace explained.

The creator of “Owl House” continued: “Representation makes things! Always fight to create what you want to see! ”

“If ‘OH’ continues, I can not wait to explore things that are important to me and my crew,” Terrace concluded. “I look forward to the next chapter.”

The creator of the series later admitted that she “will never be completely in agreement with Disney as a company,” but said she did not “completely explode” the executions that made her allies. The company did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News.

Disney has had a few open LGBTQ characters, but they have only been in small roles in the first place.
