Thanks to a tweet removed by trustworthy filter Ishan Agarwal, we now know when the OnePlus Nord will be unveiled. It will be a digital event with an added AR experience and will apparently take place on July 21, a little later than previously rumored.
It’s unclear if Agarwal was asked to promote the event, but he accidentally tweeted the information too soon, or if it was an intentional move to generate publicity, anything is possible when it comes to OnePlus. Fortunately, someone from XDA Developers was able to capture the tweet before it was removed (below), and @smasithick also retained its content.
A physical invitation in the attached images notes that OnePlus Nord is “Made to be Experienced on July 21” with the “world’s first AR smartphone launch.” The nord.oneplus.com/NordAR URL is also shared, so this is where the AR disclosure will be accessed. OnePlus has been creating publicity for the new phone for what seems like forever, so it’s nice to have a likely date for the unveiling.
By the time it finally arrives, we will probably know almost everything there is to know about the affordable phone. It will cost less than $ 500, be 5G-enabled, and will launch primarily in India and Europe with only limited quantities arriving in the US as part of a special beta program.
