OnePlus launched one phone a year in the early days, but it has expanded its portfolio since then. From a top-tier flagship to truly wireless earbuds, the company seems to be exploring all kinds of brands, and there apparently does not seem to stop with a smartwatch apparently on the way. With Nord, OnePlus recently delivered its first mid-ranger in years to much fanfare, and it would presumably step into the budget segment with a phone number Clover.

To keep the price low, the entry-level LCD display panel will be instead of OLED and the resolution will be HD + (720p) only. Without an OLED screen, the phone should instead use a capacitive fingerprint reader on the back. That’s also where its 13MP primary sensor will sit next to a few other cameras, each with 2MP resolution, likely for depth and macro. Fortunately, it seems likely that OnePlus’ upcoming budget offering will maintain the 3.5mm headphone jack.

Under the hood, a Snapdragon 460 chip will keep things running – a major downgrade of the Snapdragon 765G in the North. Clover will still run the latest OxygenOS skin based on Android 10, or maybe even Android 11 depending on when it launches. The input processor is supported by 4 GB RAM and 64 GB expandable storage. All of this charging will be a 6,000mAh battery, which can power the 30W Dash charging technology used by almost all OnePlus devices for a slower 18W adapter.

The supposed OnePlus Clover is set to become much more widely available worldwide, including the US, for a price of around $ 200. In comparison, the Nord sells for close to $ 500. This is not the first time we hear about the Clover; it recently appeared in a Geekbench list, though sportingly a Snapdragon 660. There is a good chance that the Clover may be the Nord-branded model that Carl Pei recently referred to during an interview.
