One more new COVID-19 case in Tuolumne


Sonora, CA – Tuolumne County Public Health reports that a new Tuolumne County resident has been identified with coronavirus and is being isolated today. Three individuals are no longer isolated and are listed as recovered. Tuolumne residents evaluated 7,904, 132 positives (67 women and 65 men), hospitalized 3, active cases 15, total recovered 115.

Tuolumne County’s current coronavirus rate is 99.33 in 100,000, which is just below the 100 per 100,000 level for the state’s county data monitoring program. No action will be taken until Tuolumne County is officially listed and has gone through the established process with the state. The free state testing site is open at the Calaveras County Fairgrounds Tuesday through Saturday from 7 am to 7 pm Appointments can be scheduled in advance at: https://lhi.care/covidtesting Appointments highly recommended as walk-in visits are extremely limited. The site now offers tests for children ages 3 and up (accompanied by a parent or guardian).

It is important for people to follow prevention guidelines to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, which include:

  • Practice physical distancing at all times. Keep a 6-foot space between you and others who are not part of your home. Stay in the bubble of your home!
  • Wear a face covering in public.
  • Wash your hands well and often.
  • Avoid meetings of any size with people who are not part of your home.
  • Stay home if you are sick.
  • Avoid unnecessary trips and limit your outings to essential tasks.
