The world of sports, including college football, had essentially stopped in the spring as countries around the world struggled with the coronavirus pandemic. As such, there was a dearth of college football news when the sport went into COVID-induced hibernation. Little by little, however, the game comes to life. Hopefully.
With that said, we thought it might be fun to go back through the CollegeFootballTalk Archives that go back to 2009 and take a look at what happened in sport on this date.
So without further ado, well, another ado, this is what happened in college football on July 25th, through our team of CFT writers from both past and present.

2015
THE HEADER: Three Years After NCAA’s Hammer, Penn State Still Alive and Well
The synopsis: Penn State in 2012 was hit with penalties that were just this side of SMU’s death penalty. In the subsequent eight seasons, they have won no fewer than seven games. In the past four seasons, the Nittany Lions have won more than 10 games in three of them.
