Ohio State First Round Corners Left All-Decade Team

Ohio State First Round Corners Left All-Decade Team

Ohio State has had an incredible streak of talent as a cornerback in the past decade. Bradley Roby, Eli Apple, Marshon Lattimore, Gareon Conley, Denzel Ward, Jeff Okudah, and Damon Arnette have gone from Ohio state cornerback to first-round picks since 2014.

But that apparently didn’t help any of them earn a place on the Big Ten Network All-Decade team. Ohio State did not have a cornerback on the first-team All-Decade team, which was voted on by 24 members of the media. Instead, former Iowa standout Desmond King and former Michigan State cornerback Darqueze Dennard were selected for the first team.

Former Buckeyes security Malik Hooker made the first team list from his place of safety.

Okudah and Vonn Bell were voted on the second team list.

Buckeyes’ inexcusable omission from the first team roster was probably done fairly; the Buckeyes could form a complete All-Decade team and complete, and perhaps even win against, the Big Ten All-Decade team. But the omission was inexcusable nonetheless.

Ohio State is still well represented on the team, despite having no cornerbacks or linebackers. Billy Price and Wyatt Davis reached the offensive line. Some positions have yet to be announced.

ICYMI: Lettermen Live organized by Roosters

Lettermen Live, presented by Roosters, returns for a packed episode.

As part of Tight Ends Week, former Ohio State tight end Jake Stoneburner joined former Buckeyes linebacker Zach Boren, senior Lettermen Row writer Austin Ward, and team writer Spencer Holbrook for a discussion. over the closed room. The panel discussed who needs to step up, how good the unit can be, and, of course, debated whether this will be the year that Ohio State approaches extremes.

However, the conversation did not stop there. The boys broke down the biggest positional need on the list, who will explode and where the Buckeyes should answer a few questions.

Buckeyes could use NFL concepts for Jeremy Ruckert

Ohio State knows he has a talented option on tight end at Jeremy Ruckert. But the Buckeyes haven’t been able to get the ball to their tight ends as much as they’d like. It is difficult when so many talented players are on offense. But there are plenty of teams in the NFL that carry the ball to their tight ends with ease. And the Buckeyes watch them closely to find out what works best.

Lettermen Row broke down how they can use those concepts to help Ruckert:

In the offseason, Ruckert studied the San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens, two teams that use their tight ends exceptionally well, learning how to catch those guys in favorable situations. Ruckert and other tight end Luke Farrell have NFL potential, so learning how to use them in professional play is a good start.

And it’s a good indicator that tight end could appear more on Ohio state offense this season.

One thing the Buckeyes see in the movie is running the ends tight in the middle for big profits. Ruckert has noticed how successful he can be in the NFL. And it could turn out to be a great play for the Buckeyes, especially with Ruckert’s great body as a beneficiary.
