From the moment it was revealed, Obsidian Entertainment’s new RPG Declared has made comparisons with Skyrim and The Elder Scrolls 6, for good reason. Obsidian and Bethesda have very similar development rates, and Obsidian’s strong RPGs are their daily bread. How The outer worlds seems to be his opinion on the Fall out formula, Declared you are likely to share many common elements with The Elder Scrolls 6.
One thing fans can apparently count on is the inclusion of playable careers. The Elder Scrolls 6 he’ll probably continue the franchise’s tried and true careers in his game, but Declared It may initially seem like a different story. However, it really isn’t. It has been confirmed that Declared takes place in Eora, the same setting as the pillars of eternity franchise, which means players will encounter the same races found there … and probably play them.

There are six playable races within the franchise, which can probably be played in Declared too. Together, they are known as the Kith, the civilized races of Eora, but it would be interesting to see if non-Kith races were added. Anyway, here are the likely playable races of Declared.
Declared – Human
Humans (commonly called “folk”) are the most common race in Dyrwood, the Aedyr Empire, Ancient Vailia, and the Vailian Republics. Although not as large as the mighty Aumaua, humans are known for their strength and willpower.
As is often the case, humans are the most typical and abundant race in DeclaredThe stage, Eora. They inhabit the whole world, which will guarantee their appearance regardless of where in Eora Declared takes place They are the standard race of routine, known for its strength and willpower, although not as powerful as the Aumaua. Humans have four different sub-races, which are Meadow Folk, Ocean Folk (not to be confused with Aumaua), Savannah Folk, and Storm Folk. The origins of humanity are unexplored and unknown, but they date back to tribes during the earliest days of the Aedyr Empire, making it incredibly so. DeclaredThe trailer features a human character, despite not actually being seen.
Declared – Aumaua
The powerful Aumaua are the largest Kith races and are commonly found in or near the oceans. Although not truly aquatic, they have an affinity for water, and many of their civilizations, such as Rauatai, are based on naval dominance. They are known for their incomparable strength.
There are two Aumaua sub-terraces, determined by where they choose to live. They are considered coastal or islander, but independently they have a wide variety of blue, yellow, brown, and more skin patterns, elongated heads, towering sizes, longer life spans than humans, and webbed hands and feet. They have reportedly been exploring the coasts of the world, for over 20,000 years, so it makes sense for Aumaua to appear in Declared.
Declared – Dwarf
By virtue of the land covered and the number of colonies colonized, the dwarves are the busiest race in the world. They are commonly found in Dyrwood, the Vailian Republics, and in almost any colonized land. Dwarves are known for their great strength and tenacity.
Meanwhile he Old scrolls relegating Dwemer (dwarves) to an underground race that mysteriously disappeared, Eora sees dwarves as vivid explorers. Some are known as Mountain Dwarves for this face, although there is also the Boreal Dwarf subrace. Colonization generally has not worked for dwarves, although they have explored many parts of the world.
Like most fantasy dwarves, DeclaredThe stage presents this race as short and thick-limbed, while it is physically immovable with a useful life almost twice that of the Aumaua. Without a large number of concentrated colonies, it may not be that players encounter a specific concentration of dwarves in the game, but that they encounter them by exploring and making a playable dwarf an interesting proposition due to its height restrictions.
Declared – Elf
Elves are the dominant race in Eir Glanfath and The White that Wends and are extremely common in Dyrwood and Aedyr. Elves are known for their speed and intelligence, as well as for their commonly isolationist nature.
The Eora Elves are a traditional part and a unique part in the way the franchise handles this common fantasy career. Like many others, elves are typically isolationist and Eora’s least populous colonial and sprawling, but with that said, they are second only to humans as well. Furthermore, they are known for their speed and lighter builds, with two known sub-races: Pale Elves and Wood Elves. The pale ones obtain their distinction for being almost albinos, living isolated in the polar regions. Wood elves are the dominant and best known in the lands of Eora, and they also usually live from 200 to 300 years.
Declared – Orlan
Orlanes are the smallest Kith breeds, although many cultures do not consider them civilized. Also notable for their large ears, two-tone fur, and hirsute bodies, the Orlans are commonly found in Eir Glanfath, the Ixamitl Plains, and parts of Dyrwood. They are known for their mental intensity and speed.
The orlanes are somewhat equivalent to the medians of Dungeons and Dragons, something not found in Ancient documents. Orlans often live in the north, notable for their small size (half that of a human), two-toned skin, and large, hairy ears. They are also nocturnal, although many adapt to a more livable sleep schedule, but they are often victims of their height by many cultures around the world. Home Orlans still manage to adapt to a home, while wild Orlans generally do not. Still, due to the use of guerilla tactics, traps, and poison, much of the world paints the Orlans as savages.
Interestingly, again due to the height requirement, it will be interesting to see if this race can be played in Declared. Height restrictions can seriously affect the game, and not being involved in the game is certainly a location-based possibility, but their unique qualities would also make them stand out in the fantasy RPG realm.
Declared – God
The divine are children of the kith who have been blessed with physical aspects associated with the gods (although some do not consider it a blessing). These aspects can take many forms and often come with mystical powers. Aberrant head shapes are typical, and Godlike can’t wear protective hats as it’s almost impossible to find something that fits. Due to his unusual nature and inability to reproduce, God is often seen in fear and wonder.
However, the race most likely to be included that would make Avowed stand out the most are divine beings, with strange physical features typically attributed to the gods. They can be born of any race (but more commonly human), believed to be blessed at birth, and glorified or rejected. Each one looks incredibly different from the next, with just 4 of the seven different playable subtypes in pillars of eternity. It remains to be seen how God manifests herself in DeclaredEora, but here are the seven subtypes (aside from the Skaen, who are often so malformed that they are killed or live their lives in misery):
- Berath, divine death. Typically suspicious with strange growths over the eyes to the entire face, the undead recognize them as Berath’s children, but the living often attack or kill the Gods of Death.
- Magran, the divine fire – Their bodies often look like hot metal or burned wood, with flames crackling all over their skin.
- Ondra, the divine moon – These are usually the most reliable, with an appearance easier to bear. Most Moon Godlike have a moon-like growth on their head and a paler than average skin tone.
- Galawain, the divine nature – These kith usually have animal or plant characteristics.
- Hylea, the divine avian (Cannot be played on PoE) – These kith have bird’s eye, beaks and feathers.
- Rrmygand, the divine endings (Cannot be played on PoE) – These kith are often devastated by disease and decay, spreading as well.
- Ngati, divine navy (Cannot be played on PoE) – Often associated with Moon Godlikes, these generally have marine features such as hair tentacles, scales, bioluminescent patches, and ink-producing glands.
In general, the Eora races (and potentially Declared) contrast with the more basic Tamriel breeds (Ancient documents), but in terms of how they operate in the game remains to be seen. It will be interesting to see how Obsidian Entertainment approaches or recognizes these careers, leading to the eventual Xbox Series X release of the game.
Declared It is in development for PC and Xbox Series X.
