Object reports the guest’s head on Space Mountain

On Friday, August 7, a Guest was apparently hit in the head while riding on the Space Mountain attraction at Magic Kingdom.

Witnesses report that an unknown object hit a guest on the head while riding on Space Mountain today.

In an email to Inside the Magic, another Magic Kingdom Guest returned the incident. She testified that she witnessed a female guest being brought into an area in the gift shop next to the Space Mountain attraction. EMTs arrived on the scene shortly thereafter and spent about 10 minutes with the Guest hitting on the head.

The witness stated that the Guest did not need further medical attention and Disney Cast members searched for the situation after it happened.

Some speculate that an object from a riding car may have fallen on the track above, thus hitting the Guest on the head. However, this is only speculation and at the moment the exact object that hit the Guest’s head has not been confirmed.

The witness shared that her family walked back through the queue of the Space Mountain attraction to hopefully ride a second time on the attraction, but Disney Cast members had turned on all the lights and closed the attraction. Note that the witness and the family of the witness did not visit Magic Kingdom with the Guest hit on the head.

We are still waiting for more information from local authorities regarding the incident. We are glad to hear that the Guest did not require further medical attention and we hope she is OK at this time.

It is important to note that sometimes accidents can happen, even in the most magical place on earth. We have reported several incidents regarding Space Mountain in the past. While this is an attraction by guests, many have reported being faint and even experiencing injuries while riding on Space Mountain.
