PINELLAS COUNTY / MIAMI (VG) At 01 Norwegian time, polling stations in Donald Trump’s home state, Florida, closed. It is said that the president should win here if you want to run away with the winner of the choice.
There are a total of 29 voters up for grabs, and the winner can see them all. Results of this are expected soon, and polls alternate between showing Trump and Biden in the lead.
In Clearwater Beach, on Florida’s west coast, about a hundred Trump supporters have gathered at a hotel to follow the election vigil. At the moment, no one dares to release the jubilation.
Fox News appears on the big screen. Trump voters sit quietly around the round tables, which are decorated with cardboard figures of Trump and helium balloons with the American flag.
This is the preliminary distribution of voters between Trump and Biden:
As the election results progress, those present alternate between cheering loudly and sitting quietly, and the atmosphere in the room can best be described as a true yo-yo atmosphere.
VG Election Study: New forecasts and the latest news
– Trump did what he promised
Shortly before the polls closed, VG spoke with several voters in Pinellas County on the state’s west coast. The county is one of the state’s top tip districts.
Clyde Griffin, 82, standing outside the polls with a Trump poster and a Trump mask, says he has been voting Republican for the past 14 years. Before that, he voted for the Democratic Party.
– It was the Democrats who dumped me. They took jobs, turned them over to China, increased taxes, and walked away from God. The last good Democratic president was John F. Kennedy. After his death, the party started going the wrong way, the 82-year-old believes.

Griffin is originally from Baltimore, Maryland, a Democratic state, but has lived here in Florida for six years. For the past two weeks, he has gotten up early every day to be out of the polls.
Now it’s over.
– It has been exhausting, admits the 82-year-old.
– I also stood like this in 2016. So I stayed here alone. But look now, how many we are! Griffin says, pointing at the other Trump supporters along the way.
– We are many because Trump did what he promised he would do.

Also along the way is Jace Oetting (35) with his Trump poster. Trump convinced him in 2016 and voted for the Republicans for the first time in the last presidential election.
– Trump woke me up politically. I liked his enthusiasm and the promises he made, which he has kept. I’ve had it completely “great” the last four years, Oetting tells VG.
At a sidewalk cafe, VG meets Courtney Miller, 37, who is sitting with Taunn Flood (47) and Bre-Aunna Flood (27). Unlike Griffin and Oetting, she has cast her vote for Democratic candidate Joe Biden.
– I felt it was the best option for me, for my country and for our future, says Miller, but adds that she is not so excited about Biden as a person.
– As a businesswoman, Trump also has policies that I support. But from the choice between two evils, he became Biden.
