Police, volunteers and locals have been searching throughout the night for a 59-year-old man in Vindafjord, who was reported missing Sunday night. The search continues on Monday.
According to Avis by Haugesunds the man was reported missing at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. It is said that on Saturday he embarked on a hike up the mountain.
Police have participated in the search until Monday night with three teams of dogs, and 433 crews with teams from voluntary organizations have participated in the search, along with about 70 people from the local community. Around midnight, the number of people in the search dropped somewhat for security reasons. But according to the Southwest Police District, the search will continue and intensify again on Monday.
The missing man’s motorcycle was found Sunday in a parking lot in Lintjørna, which is located in the Vindafjord between Skjold and Knapphus. Lintjørna is therefore the starting point of the search.
