Sigrid is “Spellemann of the Year” – NRK Culture and Entertainment

– I get totally emotional. I have had a terrible desire for this, Sigrid said when she received the award.

The 2019 Spellemann Awards will be presented during a live broadcast on Saturday, March 28. It was canceled due to crown measures, and prices are spread across NRK platforms.

And it was during Lindmo’s recording on Friday that the artist was surprised with the gramophone trophy.

It is crazy. It is perhaps the largest, it is one of the largest that can happen, isn’t it? exclaimed a clearly touched Sigrid.

The artist who seriously broke internationally with the song “Dont Kill My Vibe” in 2017, and who won the Spellemann Prize for the newcomer of the year that same year, received the following shot goals from the jury:

“This year’s spell is hard-working, serious and oozes energy,” said Bjørn Eidsvåg, who is one of those who read the jury statement.

For the artist herself, thoughts immediately returned to when she won her first Spellemann Prize. This time in Australia with the band and rewarding video streaming.

– It was very crazy. I was so far back then, but to be here now, and then win this award that I’ve been dreaming about for a long time. Understanding it now, it’s just an explosion, Sigrid said clearly touched.

Thanks to the family

The Spellemann of the Year award is given to athletes who have distinguished themselves in particular over the past year.

And after receiving the most generous award, the 23-year-old, who quickly changed his life on tour with his childhood home in Sunnmøre, had to thank several people.

– There are many, there are many. First and foremost is the family, with mom and dad, my siblings, and the extended family. Actually, the whole team is a bit like my family.

In addition, the artist criticizes several of her collaborators and collaborators before ending with a final thanks:

Sigrid was nominated for four awards during the 2019 Spellemann Prize, including Song of the Year for the song “Don’t Feel Like Crying”. This prize will be awarded on Saturday at NRK 1 starting at 22:00.
