Under Frank Lampard’s leadership there has been a youth revolution in Chelsea. A group of young people has had their breakthrough.
Billy Gilmour (18), Mason Mount (21), Reece James (20), Tammy Abraham (22) and Fikayo Tomori (22) have had good opportunities this season. Chelsea has also developed Ruben Loftus-Cheek (24) and Callum Hudson-Odoi (19),
who made his way into the first team last season.
Former Chelsea striker Tore André Flo, who has worked at the club’s academy for many years and is in charge of lenders, believes they have worked well with young boys for many seasons.
– Although they are advancing in the first team now, the junior team has actually done tremendously well for a long, long period. The only thing missing was someone who dared to give them the chance, and they finally had it at Frank Lampard, he tells TV 2.

Lampard has kept his promise
Flo believes there has been a shortage of managers who have relied on talent.
– We who work here have seen several talents who left Chelsea before they really had a chance. Lampard took a bit of the training system into the Chelsea system, so he knows the academy inside and out and the players very well. He promised to give the boys
opportunity, and he has kept that up, says Flo.
Chelsea have not been in contention for the Premier League title this season and are out of the Champions League, but Flo believes fans are happy when they see their own developed players finally flourish in the first team.
The London club was not allowed to buy new players until this season after violating the rules for buying professional players for the first time.
Flo thinks it might have been good for Chelsea to get the transition rejection. He feels that patience with Lampard and the youth is greater than in previous years.
– At least, the transitional rejection has meant that both the club and the fans give Lampard some time. This time he uses it very well and intelligently. He has brought both the club and the followers with him. You will probably have some time to work on your project, says Tore André Flo.
Generation without limits
TV 2 soccer expert Brede Hangeland believes there are no limits to how well the Chelsea team can with time.
– Young players with great potential who are already up and settling at the Premier League level can take things to a new level. When you are between 25 and 26 years old, you are limited how much better you can be. When you are 20 years old and you already play in the Premier
League, there are no limits, says Hangeland.
