Just prior to the interview on the left-wing television channel, Biden’s office released a statement with similar content.
Biden has been under intense pressure from women activists in the United States. They must have prepared an open letter in which, among other things, they asked him to answer the charges.
The letter must have been suspended when Biden’s advisers promised they would comment on the matter.
Tara Reade’s charges
In 1993 Tara Reade was an adviser to then-Senator Joe Biden. I was young and I wanted to do a good job.
According to Reade, Biden pushed her against a wall in a Senate hallway. He must have penetrated her with his fingers, against her will.
He should also have put his hands on her shoulders and caressed her neck, inadvertently.
Joe Biden has long been known to make some women feel uncomfortable. Too much time has passed, too many hands. But the charge of direct abuse is new.
Reject a complaint
Sara Reade has said that she told some staff members of the Biden staff about the abuse. She claims that she also filed a written complaint, but that she herself does not have a copy of that complaint.
“If such a document exists, it must be in the National Archives,” Biden said in his first interview on the case on the MSNBC television channel today.
– I am sure there is no such complaint. None of my coworkers at the time have heard of such a complaint.
What do the professionals say for the Biden election campaign?
The big question now is whether Democratic voters trust Biden’s assurance that he has never abused Tara Reade.
Such claims probably have more to say to Democratic voters than to those who support Donald Trump.

The 2016 election showed that Trump voters were not intimidated by his statements about women, including the statement “Grab them by the pussy” to the director of the Access Hollywood program in 2005.
For Biden, it can still spell more trouble.
- Prayers have repeatedly rejected accusations of inappropriate behavior towards women. But several sources have confirmed that Reade reported the alleged assault fairly quickly after it happened.
- Biden has already said he wants a woman as his vice presidential candidate. That woman is now forced to defend Biden against her own past. She must trivialize the alleged assault and say that Biden today is another Biden yesterday.
- Biden has lost some of the moral acquisition many voters believe he has about President Trump. One of Hillary Clinton’s former aides has asked Biden to resign. Peter Daou believes that the Democratic Party cannot afford it not take Tara Reade seriously.
