Several were caught off guard by Hollywood star Tori Spellings (47) posting on Instagram on April 1. The 47-year-old shared a photo with her 1.5 million followers, where she was keeping a close eye on what appeared to be a baby tummy.
“No. 6” wrote Spelling below the image.
Shut up for this
Since the photo was shared on April 1, many people have interpreted the photo as an April Fool joke. However, the actor’s image managed to set the comment field on fire within a few hours, with many thinking it was in bad taste for the star to possibly joke about the pregnancy.
Now Spelling finally solves the confusion in a new post on Instagram. There, the star explains that it was all just a hoax and that she and her husband Dean McDermott (54) are not expecting their sixth child.
Stick to the media
She writes that the post was a sting for the media, who immediately began to wonder if she was once again expecting a child.
“Every week, magazines and other media ask if I am pregnant. To clarify: no, I am not. The truth is that my body did not return to the same after my fifth child”, writes Spelling in the post .
She writes that questions about “another pregnancy” really started to come up after her last birth. The 47-year-old describes how difficult it is for her body to hang in public.
“I know that pregnancy is an incredible blessing. And I would never intentionally scoff at miscarriage or the possibility of not having children. I had a miscarriage myself,” writes Spelling.
The mother of five continues:
“My post was meant to turn him against the press, for once. They constantly do wild and often hurtful things about me, my body and my family.”
Strong reactions
The Spelling’s April Fool joke created, to put it mildly, resentment in the comment field.
“Wait. Is this real?” There was a user who asked.
“This must be an April Fool joke,” wrote another.
“Terrible if this is a joke,” commented a third.

Several in the comment field thought it was “deaf and disrespectful” for the 47-year-old to joke that she is expecting a child, in the sense that many other women struggle to get pregnant in the first place.
“Tori, I thought almost everyone knew that it is insensitive to joke that you are pregnant,” wrote one user, before another followed:
“I really don’t expect this to be an April Fool joke. Every year women should be reminded that it is not fun to joke about pregnancy and that it is a huge trigger for those struggling to achieve it.
Tori Spelling has five children Liam (14), Stella (12), Hattie (9), Finn (8) and Beau (4) with Dean McDermott. The children have been on a conveyor belt since 2007. McDermott also has a son Jack (22) from a previous relationship.
Since they married in 2006, Spelling and McDermott have made various headlines as a couple, both in terms of their own finances, rumors of infidelity and family feuds.
