Daniel-André Tande (27) has been transferred to the Ljubljana hospital after an ugly fall on the Planica ski slope. The condition is stable, but the Norwegian is in an artificial coma.

National team coach Alexander Stöckl told Nettavisen about Daniel-André Tande’s condition on Thursday night.
Stöckl also claims that Tande broke his clavicle in the cruel fall.
Dramatic acts
The Norwegian ski jumper lost control at over 100 kilometers per hour and turned the ball over.
The Norwegian was knocked unconscious at the foot of the hill before medical personnel ran up.
Dr. Tomislav Mirkovic from Planica talks about some dramatic minutes in a statement Thursday night.
The doctor says that Tande was unconscious when they put him in the ambulance and that he was intubated and received mechanical ventilation.
According to the Great Medical Lexicon, intubation is a procedure in which a tube is inserted into the upper part of the windpipe.
– After stabilizing him, we transported him to the university hospital in Ljubljana, says Dr. Mirkovic.
The doctor explains that the hospital’s first tests look promising and that they will carry out new tests in 24 hours.
– We’ll know more tomorrow afternoon, says the doctor.
The coach of the national team, Stöckl, is affected by the incident and does not hide that he has been very demanding.
– It was a difficult day on the slopes for everyone. The boys fought properly. We didn’t know how he was, says Stöckl.
Granerud in relief
Thursday’s competition went as planned, but it was clear that the Norwegian jumpers were affected by what had happened to their teammate.
World Cup leader Halvor Egner Granerud failed to reach the final round after a 199.5 meter flight.
He doesn’t hide the fact that he struggled to focus on what happened to his friend.
– It was disgusting, a little scary and I was very worried about how it had gone, Granerud tells Nettavisen.
He saw Tande fly away from the area in the helicopter before he went downhill himself.
– It was not easy to hear them pick up your friend, says the World Cup leader.
Granerud still did well in the test round, but was unable to vote in the race itself.
– It is clear that it shocks you.
– You almost have to accept that you focus more on how things are going with Daniel than on how things are going in the show jumping race, says Granerud.
Robert Johansson became the best Norwegian in 7th place after jumps of 217 and 234.5 meters. Johann Andre Forfang was number 11, while Marius Lindvik did not reach the final either.
Ryoyu Kobayashi from Japan won the race ahead of Germans Markus Eisenbichler and Karl Geiger. The Japanese impressed when he jumped 235.5 and 244.5 meters.
Friday is the new World Cup race in Planica. Stöckl estimates that the Norwegian team will play, but will not confirm it on Thursday night.
– We have to chat in the morning, Stöckl tells Nettavisen.
