There has been a traffic accident between two scheduled buses in the municipality of Stange in the Interior.
A driver has died as a result of the accident. The other bus driver was taken to the emergency room for further treatment with an unknown degree of injury.
– Life-saving first aid was given at the scene, but unfortunately no lives could be saved, police report.
Encounter accident
One of the buses had no passengers, the other had three passengers. All of these seem intact.
Here’s what Innlandet Police District Operations Director Bård Einar Hoft says.
– No passenger is physically injured. But they are affected by the incident, Hoft says.
The accident is a meeting accident between two buses, but the police do not want to comment further on the case.
– It’s very slippery in place. We are still on site and conducting technical investigations together with AIBN and the accident analysis group, Hoft says.
Traffic accidents accumulate
There has also been an accident with two buses in Leira en Valdres.
There, a driver has suffered possible fracture injuries, but must be conscious.
The injured driver was taken to the emergency room in Fagernes for further treatment. The degree of damage is unknown. Emergency services are on site and the police manually direct traffic in Månovegen.
On the E16 Fransbråtaberget, a trailer blocks the road. Police are on the scene and rescue of the car is on the way.
On national road 4 in Gjøvik, a trailer has been cut off. It blocks both southbound lanes and the road is closed. No one should be hurt.
There has also been an accident on the county road 21 Skotetrud. A tanker truck ran off the road. No one should be hurt. Viking is on his way to save the car.
Additionally, a truck ran off the road on Brattjordet County Highway 33. No one should be hurt.
And on Nybergsund County Highway 24, there are now fewer traffic problems as a trailer is stuck at the site.
There has also been a downhill race at Stange. A car entered the ditch and two signs were damaged on the spot. No one is injured as a result of the incident and traffic is operating normally.
