– We did not identify him, but the man was found in the search area and no one else is missing here, says Operations Manager Miriam Stausland in the Agder Police District.
Police were notified at 6:45 p.m. Sunday night that a man in his 20s had disappeared after an outdoor party in the area on Saturday night.
Large search teams and police helicopters were deployed.
– It was one of the police dog patrols that found him, says Stausland.
Unknown cause of death
Family members have been notified of the discovery of a dead person.
– They found him in the search area near where they had a party.
– Is there any indication that he may have been the victim of something criminal?
– We cannot confirm or deny it, but we cannot rule it out. Now forensic technicians are investigating him. Police will, of course, try to find out what happened, Stausland told NRK on Sunday night.
It is unknown what caused the death.
Outdoor party
The party was on the ground, difficult and challenging to implement, police said.
The police helicopter was used in the search. The same happened with drones and police dogs.
In addition, large crews from the Red Cross, Norwegian People’s Aid, Norwegian rescue dogs and Roverne took off.
The area is described as steep and difficult to access.
The forest area lies between Nygrenda and Reddal.
The NRK reporter on the site claims there are around fifty search teams at the site.
