In Israel, the infection is skyrocketing. But cases of disease are drastically declining.
Only one country in the world has vaccinated almost all people in risk groups. That country is Israel. 55.6% of the population have received the first needle stick and 40.6% have received a complete vaccination.
Up to 90 percent of Israelis over the age of 50 have been vaccinated or have natural antibodies to the virus.
By comparison, about 6 percent of Norwegians have received the first dose of vaccine and 3 percent have been fully vaccinated.
When we see what the future may look like when Norway also vaccinates a large part of the population, it is natural to look to Israel.

Can swim with vaccine pass
Israel has recently experienced an increase in infection. According to the Israeli army special group for coronavirus, the breeding number is now 1, and the country has seen an increase in infection in recent weeks.
On Tuesday, 4,265 people tested positive for the virus, out of a total of 91,122 tests performed. A total of 5,797 Israelis have lost their lives.
About half of those newly infected are under the age of 19, which means that the vast majority are only at risk for mild symptoms.
But even if people are infected, there are far fewer cases of serious illness. The number of seriously ill as a result of the virus dropped to the lowest level in 10 weeks, with 717 patients in total. 266 people are in critical condition and 224 people are on a respirator.

The country is just under twice that of Norway, with a population of approximately 9.3 million people.
With a separate vaccine pass for the fully vaccinated, larger and larger sections of the population have regained their freedom. While the malls and stores are open to everyone, the gym, swimming pool, hotels and cultural facilities are also open to people with vaccination passes.
Will cooperate with Israel
Discussions for a vaccine collaboration have recently started with EU countries, Denmark and Austria. Both countries believe that EU cooperation on vaccines has been too slow and therefore have wanted to find other solutions. According to Danish Prime Minister Mette Fredriksen, the construction of vaccine factories in Israel is under discussion.

– This may mean that we are building vaccine factories in Israel. This is not an unrealistic scenario, the Danish prime minister said during a question and answer session in the Danish parliament on Tuesday, according to Danish TV2.
He travels to Israel to speak with the government on Thursday.

The country has had several rounds of closures, similar to Norway, but has some rules that are stricter. For example, that they have long refused to allow their own citizens to return to Israel. The country now admits 1,000 people a week from all over the world.
In particular, there has been concern about the application of restrictions by ultra-Orthodox Jewish communities. According to the Haaretz newspaper, there have been several cases of schools and other centers that have remained open despite the closure.
