A man in his 30s is charged with attempted murder and aggravated violence after a collision on E6 in Sarpsborg on Thursday morning.
On Thursday, police arrested a man after a collision on the E6 at Grålum in Sarpsborg.
He was initially arrested for fleeing the scene of the accident, but even then the police suspected that the collision was a deliberate act.
The man’s lawyer, Harald Otterstad, now confirms to Sarpsborg Arbeiderblad that the position has been significantly expanded.
Otterstad says that the attempted murder of which the man is accused applies to his own wife, who was in the crashed car and was seriously injured, while the serious bodily injury refers to a woman who was struck from behind and who suffered life-threatening injuries.
The incident happened on E6 in Grålum on the outskirts of Sarpsborg on Thursday morning. The car the man was driving in collided with the other car at high speed. The man himself was hospitalized after the incident.
According to the lawyer, the man will be taken to prison later on Friday, but he is not yet scheduled.
Police want to detain the man in his 30s while they investigate the accident.
Otterstad tells VG that the man has not yet been questioned.
– He is very affected and it is a sad case, says the lawyer.
There were three people involved in the accident and two were sent to the hospital. The third person is the accused.
– My client is charged with an attempted murder and a serious bodily injury case, says Otterstad.
Witnesses say that before the accident, a car came to a very high speed driving downhill. Then we received a report of a traffic accident, and at the same time a person who fled the scene is reported, operations manager Svein Walle told VG on Thursday.
