The 95-year-old, who lives in a nursing home near Hamburg in northern Germany, has been overtaken by her dark past, the BBC writes.
During World War II, he worked for a commander in the Stutthof concentration camp, which was established in 1939 near Gdansk in present-day Poland.
An estimated 65,000 prisoners lost their lives in the camp.

Investigated
The woman, now 95, is said to have worked as a secretary to Paul Wener Hoppe, commander-in-chief of the concentration camp. At the time, she was only 21 years old.
His role in the many murders that took place in the field has now been investigated, and the investigation has led to a charge that he has contributed to 10,000 murders.
According to the BBC, it is unclear whether the woman will be brought to justice. His role is still being investigated.

The woman herself has explained that she did not know that the prisoners were killed in the gas chambers at Stuffhof, writes BBC.
It is estimated that around 100,000 people were detained in cruel conditions in the camp, many of them Jews.
Was sentenced
Former SS soldier and prison guard Bruno Dey was sentenced last summer to two years’ probation. The 93-year-old was charged with aiding and inciting the murder of 5,232 prisoners in the Stutthof camp, which was the first Nazi settlement outside of Germany.
When he was 17 years old, he was a guard in the field east of Gdansk from August 9, 1944 to April 26, 1945. Last year he used the final procedure to apologize to the victims.
“Today I want to apologize to everyone who went through this infernal madness and to all their family members and descendants,” Dey said in court.
Dey’s defender, Stefan Waterkamp, at the same time withdrew the acquittal claim and argued, among other things, that the victims would have been killed regardless of whether Dey worked at the camp. The same 93-year-old man has denied his criminal guilt.
– I’m not to blame for what happened then. I didn’t contribute to it except to stand guard. I was forced to do it, it was an order, he said.
