The coronavirus is neither man-made nor genetically modified, American intelligence concludes.
President Donald Trump and others have suggested that the virus may be man-made and come from a laboratory in Wuhan, the Chinese city where it was first detected and killed.
There is no evidence of this, concludes US intelligence.
Whether the virus occurred as a result of an accident in a laboratory or from contact with animals is still being investigated, said the office of the United States Chief of Intelligence Mike Dempsey, who coordinates the operations of the country’s 16 different intelligence organizations. .
