Swedish state epidemiologist Anders Tegnell has been widely criticized by the Swedish government for running the crown.
Among other things, he has been accused of allowing the infection to spread freely in society to achieve so-called “herd immunity”.
He does not agree with having done it.
– We have never discussed the release of the infection, Tegnell tells SVT’s special program on the corona pandemic, according to Expressen.
– The Swedish strategy is basically quite similar to what the other country has worked, is to keep the infection as low as possible, he says.
Respond to the king’s criticism
– Aspirated throughout the country
On the show, he receives criticism for low testing capacity this spring.
– It was important to start, I can’t understand where you don’t think I was. The capacity has been increased and is now 15 times greater than when we started.
It says they now have the capacity to test about 300,000 people. In March, the capacity was around 20,000 tests.
– We have vacuumed across the country to find different players to try, says Tegnell.
– Difficult comparison
Sweden is among the countries in the world that have been most affected by the pandemic.
The host of the show, Camilla Kvartoft, asks if Tegnell can name another country where things have gone better, without further closing.
– It is quite difficult, since almost all countries except Sweden have closed more than us. When I speak to my European colleagues, I say that we have had a virtual “block”. In fact, we’ve had that, since people don’t get together much, Tegnell says.
-It will be a difficult comparison because I cannot reach any country with open arms, he says.
