Dortmund’s new coach, Edin Terzic, is clear about what will be important to Haaland when he returns from injury.
Lucien Favre was sacked as Borussia Dortmund manager in December, and Edin Terzic has been on as interim manager for the remainder of the season.
Terzic now finally gets Haaland back into the starting lineup, after the Norwegian missed Dortmund’s last seven games in 2020 due to injury.
It could prove important for the great German club, which only won one of the four Bundesliga games they played without Jærbuen and thus lost many valuable points in the battle for the Bundesliga trophy.
On Sunday, Haaland is back in the Dortmund squad after a long injury hiatus when the big club take on Wolfsburg.

– You should take it easy
But the new Dortmund coach is clear that they must match the Norwegian carefully after he returns from injury.

– Erling Haaland is known for his hunger to play and score goals. This is one of its qualities. We see it in every game. But we must be careful and ask him to take it easy. Especially when he’s just returned from injury, Terzic says, according to The Mirror.
But the German coach is still aware that although they have to calm the Norwegian a bit at first, his enormous hunger is impressive.
“Apart from that, we guide him calmly, but it’s good to see his enormous hunger,” says the Dortmund coach.
So far this season, Haaland has scored 17 goals in 14 games. Dortmund and Terzic depend on the 20-year-old continuing in good scoring form and being able to keep up in the battle to win the German series.
He will already have that opportunity on Sunday afternoon, when Dortmund meet Wolfsburg at 3.30 pm.
And Terzic doesn’t hide how important the 20-year-old is to the team.
– It is not only for Borussia Dortmund that is important. All the teams in the world depend on the player who has the last touch facing the goal. Erling is very important to us, not only because of his goal quota, but also because of his presence on the pitch. The rooms you create for us are extremely important to us.
At the moment, Dortmund is nine points behind the league leaders RB Leipzig, albeit with one game less played. Bayern Munich are eight points ahead of the yellow jerseys, with the same number of games played.

Received several awards
When Haaland was injured in December, he spent many days in rehab in Qatar. This was seen on Instagram, among other things, but also when he received several generous awards for his fantastic achievements in 2020.
The Norwegian took home the generous Golden Boy Award, which is awarded to the best player in Europe under 21 years of age. Visible proof of that was given to him in December.
Jærbuen also won the award for “Sporting Name of the Year” at Nettavisen. In an exclusive interview with Nettavisen, he stated, among other things, that 2020 has been an “interesting” year.

I made a perfect club choice and came to a club that took good care of me. They have shown me what lives in me, it has been a good year, but I am ready to take it to the heights next year, Haaland told Nettavisen in December regarding his nomination as “Sports Name of the Year”.
