Åge Hareide’s crew has really collapsed, and now there’s a bad mood warning in the locker room.
VALLE (Nettavisen): Rosenborg is in terrible shape with a series of four straight losses in the Eliteserien.
Vålerenga’s 0-1 defeat in Oslo on Monday means that the Trøndelag team after all sun marks does not take a medal for the first time since 2008. They then finished fifth in the final season before being traded to 16 teams in the first division of the country.
This summer, sporting director Mikael Dorsin reinforced the team with seasoned names such as Per Ciljan Skjelbred, Holmar Örn Eyjólfsson and Markus Henriksen.
Also, Åge Hareide was given the coaching assignment after Eirik Horneland was told to pack his things and leave Lerkendal.
In eleven games of the Elite Series, under Hareide’s leadership, there have been five wins, two draws and four losses. This is Rosenborg’s weakest series in the context of the Elite Series since 2005.
See how Åge Hareide reacts to the controversial situation in the final minutes of the loss to Vålerenga:
Skjelbred: – We must honestly admit that
Skjelbred, 33, returned home to Trondheim after several years in the German Bundesliga for Hamburg and Hertha Berlin. The veteran recognizes that the beginning of his second stage at the club has not been as he imagined.
– It is a situation in which it is not fun to be. We want to be on top and fight. Now it has been a season that unfortunately for us has not been for everyone. We have been very bad, we must honestly admit it. We want to act and end in a good way, Skjelbred tells Nettavisen.

Eurosport expert Joacim Jonsson is one of those reacting to RBK’s hiring strategy. He’s also not convinced of the quality of the seasoned names who have made a comeback in the black and white suit.
– The average age of RBK on the team yesterday (Monday against Vålerenga’s editor’s note) was 28.27 years. Scary strong. If you beat the other teams in boots, it is possible to defend, but when it looks heavy, slow and underperforming, it is somewhat alarming, writes the Swede.
After four consecutive losses, the season is about to be the only major disappointment for Norway’s winningest club, where the demand for titles is almost overwhelming.
– How is the mood in the team?
– Of course it’s not a good thing. Now it’s been bad for a couple of weeks, to be completely honest. There are three games left and we have to keep up our spirits. Margins will not work in our favor, explains Skjelbred.
– Being subjected to murder
Already on Thursday night, the stage is set for a new and very important match against Mjøndalen. Rosenborg is practically forced to reverse the trend and take three points, to have any hope of pinching the bronze medal that Vålerenga now has halfway in his pockets.
Coach Hareide was not a happy man on the road and after the team’s fourth straight loss. The experienced coach spent a lot of time and energy on the field.
– It is not easy to take responsibility for this (a team that faces a lot of bad luck). You feel like you are being subjected to murder over and over again. That said, it is not the referees fault that we are fighting, Hareide told Nettavisen after Monday’s game.
He thinks his team had a good plan for the settlement in Oslo.
– We had a good start to the game. It was 22 minutes before Vålerenga was in our box. We are on the move, what we work with works, the players respond well and stay well together as a group. I am not worried. We are doing well and with a bit of luck we could score points, he continues.

The 67-year-old also drew the Norwegian football surface, artificial turf, but he doesn’t want him to spend a lot of energy on non-sports things.
– I’m not very negative. I should be allowed to have an opinion on things, even if we can’t do anything about the courses. It’s where it is. However, world-class international football is played on grass. It has been very strange now and it is very strange. It is easy to blame and we should avoid it. Little things are going against us all the time right now, he concludes.
Rosenborg faces Mjøndalen in a very important match at both ends of the table. The start in Lerkendal is at 6:00 p.m.
