Riiber has bad luck with the weather: don’t go to Ruka on Sunday

The cancellation means that it is Thursday’s test that forms the basis for cross-country skiing later on Sunday. Riiber was ruled out on Thursday, so he is not allowed to participate in the final race of Ruka’s triple.

– I’m really mad. I’m here to compete, and to be taken advantage of that opportunity to compete to begin with, it’s bitter, Riiber tells NRK.

The Oslo man has won the last five World Cup races at the Finnish ski resort, but he will not have a chance for a sixth consecutive victory.

At the same time, Riiber has a chance to win triple Ruka overall. So it doesn’t depend on whether neither the Austrian Johannes Lamparter nor the Japanese Akito Watabe win Sunday’s race. They are respectively 80 and 100 points behind Riiber in the summary.

The reason Riiber was ruled out in the test jump was an unregulated jump suit. The inspector thought there was very little air flow in one part of the back of one leg.

The German Manuel Faisst was the best in the test and leaves with an advantage of 18 seconds to the Norwegian Jens Lurås Oftebro in cross-country skiing. Lamparter starts at number three, eight seconds behind Oftebro.
