The boy was seriously injured. The police are looking for one or more perpetrators.

He was a 16-year-old boy who was stabbed at the Trosterudklubben leisure club in the Alna district of eastern Oslo on Wednesday night. He had wounds on his upper body when they found him.

The person or persons who were involved in the incident must also be roughly the same age, police confirmed to VG.

According to the police, it does not appear that the boy was related to the leisure club.

He was taken to the hospital by ambulance, operations manager Guro Sandnes told VG at 6:20 p.m.

– The boy was conscious when we arrived at the scene, the operations manager said then.

Later Wednesday night, it emerged that the boy had knife wounds to his upper body and that police described the injuries as serious.

– He was seriously injured when he was picked up and treated by an ambulance, operations manager Rune Hekkelstrand tells VG at 9.30 pm.

Police were notified of the incident at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon and reported it on Twitter at 6:11 p.m.

A knife was found nearby

On Wednesday night, police worked to secure leads at the scene and collect video from surveillance cameras in the area.

– The police haven’t arrested anyone yet. “We have gotten a lot of traces in the form of video, witness questioning and technical traces at the scene,” says Hekkelstrand.

Photos from the area show that a knife was found near the leisure club. When asked if this was the knife the boy was stabbed with, the operations manager says:

– It’s true that we found a knife. We have not determined that it is related to the incident, but it is something we are investigating.

Should meet friends

Acting crime leader for the Oslo police, Bonnie Stokke, tells VG that it does not appear that the boy had been in Trosterudklubben on Wednesday night.

She further says that the police are still working to obtain information about what he did in the area.

– What we know is that he was going to meet some friends. Beyond that, we have to wait for their explanation, says Stokke.

Police are not yet sure how many perpetrators have been involved in the stabbing.

– We know that there were probably several people involved or close to the incident, with whom we are interested in contacting. But we don’t know what role they have played.

– We know the perpetrator or people must have been wearing masks, says Stokke.
