NFF is working on a fix for the next round of the Elite Series, as six teams have been affected by quarantines. They also confirm that the Elite Series players who have been to the national team meeting are out of quarantine on Sunday, November 22.

This week, the men’s national team was quarantined after Vice Captain Omar Elabdellaoui tested positive for the coronavirus.

This creates problems for the implementation of the next round of the Elite Series, as five players on the team are from the Elite Series:

Rosenborg’s managing director tells VG that she has proposed to the Norwegian Football Association that Rosenborg’s game against Brann can therefore be moved to Wednesday 25 November.

– I also think this could be something Odd and Glimt want as well, as they will also be short of players next weekend. They won’t play in Europe either, so maybe one chance is to play Wednesday’s game and then Sunday for the next round after there again, Moe Dyrhaug tells VG.

As of today, there are six clubs affected by the quarantine crown. In addition to Rosenborg, Glimt and Odd, Brann, Haugesund and Strømsgodset are also affected by the quarantine.

On Sunday, NFF Competition Director Nils Fisketjønn told VG that the association is now working on a solution for the next round of the Elite Series.

Team manager Håvard Sakariassen in Bodø / Glimt writes to VG that they will request to move the match, but only if the players are still in quarantine when the match will be played.

– If our boys from the national team are out of quarantine until the start of the game, we will play the game at the scheduled time. If the players are still in quarantine on Sunday night, we will look to move the match. We understand that the players are out of quarantine at 1:00 p.m. on match day. If this understanding of the situation is correct, we will play the game at the scheduled time, writes Sakariassen to VG.

Nils Fisketjønn confirms that the players who have been to the meeting of the national team will come out of quarantine at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 22.

NFF has contacted players from national emergency teams

Brann Rune Soltvedt’s own sporting director has not heard from the NFF or other clubs when contacted by VG about a possible postponement of his match against Rosenborg.

– Subject to the fact that the information you give me is true, it is important to us that it is fair and equal for all teams. If this had been mid-season, it would have been something else, but now we’re in a rush where it will all be decided. So I think all teams should be allowed to fight on the fairest possible basis, says sports manager at Brann Rune Soltvedt to VG and adds:

– But the NFF is probably well aware of this too, and we are confident that they will handle this in the best possible way for all teams if there are changes to the match schedule.
