The picture book about the largest private house in Norway is ready, see the pictures of the unique property.
Mille-Marie Treschow died of cancer two years ago and was never able to complete the book on the home ‘Fritzøehus (see data table below). But now the two children Michael and Victoria honor their mother by publishing her book “Fritzøehus – the four seasons”. The cancer association makes the profit from the sale.
Mille-Marie Treschow worked for almost five years with photographer Esten Borgos on the book about Fritzøehus, the garden and the surrounding park. The book was originally going to be released on the day Treschow was buried, September 29, 2018.
But now the 350-page picture book is ready for sale. Mille-Marie Treschow had spent ten years renovating the mansion with 2300 square meters of floor space to its original condition (see video on top of the box). The property’s garden and park were also renovated.

Honor mother
Fritzøehus was renovated and improved for ten years. During the renovation, Mille-Marie Treschow found several family treasures, as clothing and objects have been well cared for since the house was built in 1860-1863. To commemorate the 150th anniversary of the building, he created an exhibition in 2013.
– My sister and I are happy to finally honor my mother with the publication of the book in which she dedicated a lot of time and effort. It marks in many ways the end of his project to return and improve Fritzøehus.
– We are also happy to be able to donate the proceeds from the sale of books to the Cancer Society, says his son Michael Stang Treschow, in a press release.

According to the press release, the book project started after photographing Fritzøehus’s 150th anniversary celebration in 2013. Mille-Marie Treschow has written the texts in the book, which is primarily a picture book.
According to the press release, the book will only be sold through the website of the non-profit foundation created for this purpose; Mille-Marie Treschow Foundation for Cancer Research.
Mille-Marie Treschow was born in 1954 and died of cancer in September 2018. She attended Croft House School boarding school in Dorset in England, but graduated in art in Norway and studied for a master’s degree in economics in Switzerland and the United States.
Single owner
Treschow ran extensive business activities from Larvik’s house. It includes the largest private forest property, industry, commerce and real estate development in the country. Since 1986 she was the sole owner of Treschow-Fritzøe AS.
From 2004 to 2012, Mille-Marie Treschow was married to Stein-Erik Hagen. She stated in 2017 that she did not know that Hagen was gay.
