Three people have been arrested after a major police operation in Kristiansand.

The police operation began at 09:30 on Tuesday.

So the police must have been notified of a man who may have been taken away in a car against his will, according to a press release from the Agder police district.

– We have searched for the person all day, and this afternoon we managed to track down the person we were looking for at an address in Kristiansand. He is not injured and will be questioned to clarify what happened, says Chief of Staff Morten Sjustøl of the Agder Police District in the press release.

Three people have been arrested, but it is not yet known what they are charged with.

The police operation lasted several hours and was not completed until 4.30 p.m.

The heavily armed police had then searched for various addresses in both Kristiansand and Vennesla, just two miles north of the southern village.

Emergency brigade personnel, hostage traffickers and a police helicopter were dispatched to Sørlandet to assist the local police.

– The reason we requested help from Oslo’s national aid resources was that we wanted to have the relevant resources available if necessary, says Sjustøl.

VG will be back with more.
