Crystal Palace scored a landslide victory over Leeds, but it was a new VAR decision that caught the eye.

Crystal Palace put on an impressive performance on Saturday afternoon. The Londoners beat Leeds 4-1, after goals from Dann, Eze, Ayew and Helder Costa’s own goal. Bamford scored the Leeds goal.
But once again, it was a VAR situation that got attention. At 17 minutes, Bamford seemed to change his tactical approach a bit, but the ball was cleared from the defender’s boot, VAR.
The cancellation received backlash. On replays, it might appear that Bamford was in play and that it was his arm that was out of play. This caused more people to react.

Hangeland was supported by his former teammate Erik Nevland.
Gary Lineker was also concerned about the situation.
– There is another idiotic official VAR decision that annuls Bamford’s goal. In fact, I hate the way it’s implemented, he writes.
New rule
On TV 2’s Premier League studio during halftime, Erik Thorstvedt tried to explain why Bamford was called offside. The former goalkeeper says the rules have changed and the upper arm may now be out of play after a change in hand rules.
However, Simen Stamsø Møller questioned whether the technology used by VAR can be trusted.
– It is completely impossible to know where to put that line, said the expert from TV 2.
Free throw pearl
Crystal Palace took the lead at home at twelve minutes. Scott Dann soared into the air in a corner and stabbed the ball into the goal, through the crossbar.
Bamford thought a few minutes later that he had tied, but the goal was disallowed for offside by VAR.

After the first half break, Crystal Palace increased the lead. Eze hit a free kick over the wall, hard and accurate at 2-0. Leeds goalkeeper Meslier didn’t get a chance on the youngster’s free kick.
Unfortunate coast
Five minutes later Leeds answered, and once again it was Bamford who put the ball into goal. The forward picked up a header from Klich, brought the ball to his chest and hit it longer with his left foot.
Just before the break, Crystal Palace made it 3-1. Van Aanholt stormed down the left side and hit the field. Helder Costa dropped to the ground to block the post, but the Portuguese was unlucky and the ball slipped into his own net.
Towards the end of the second half, Jordan Ayew punctured the match. Zaha got on the field and played Ayew, who put the ball at 4-1, through the goalkeeper and the post.
Crystal Palace thus climbed to sixth place in the table, while Leeds is 14th in the Premier League table.
