In its new recommendations for measures, the Norwegian Health Directorate will, among other things, have liquor stops across the country and requirements for a negative test upon entering the country.
VG is informed that Prime Minister Erna Solberg (H) will arrive at the Storting this morning with at least two clear messages to prevent the spread of the infection:
** Everyone should limit social contact with others.
** Travel, also domestic and in the immediate area, should be limited as much as possible.
Presented today
The Norwegian Health Directorate’s recommendations to the government were released Thursday morning. VG receives confirmation of several of the measures that will now be introduced:
The government will ask people to avoid unnecessary travel both within and outside the country in the new austerity measures presented to the Storting today, VG reports.
In addition, a national bar stop will be introduced at 24.00, requirements for face masks also in taxis, restrictions for gyms, with requirements of two meters of distance for indoor training, according to information from VG.
The measures recommended by the Norwegian Health Directorate
- Requirement of a documented negative coronary test that has a maximum of 72 hours when entering Norway when coming from a country with a high infection.
- Enter requirements for quarantined hotels if you do not have a permanent residence or have documented a quarantine location approved by your employer.
- National Council to avoid unnecessary domestic travel. This does not apply to business trips / commuter trips or trips that take place with little contact with others (for example, to a leisure property). It also does not apply to the use of free areas in your own region of residence and work. This especially applies to leisure travel to and from areas with higher infection, writes the Norwegian Health Directorate.
- Liquor stop across the country at midnight.
- Digital teaching in colleges and universities.
- Maximum 20 people in private events in public places.
The Norwegian Health Directorate also believes that attempts should be made to limit travel in and out of areas with coronavirus outbreaks:
‘The Oslo and Bergen areas are epicenters of the epidemic in Norway. We also see outbreaks in many smaller municipalities, often with 5 to 50 cases, especially around the epicenter. Therefore, it is important to try to reduce the spread from urban areas by advising the population to limit unnecessary movements in and out of the areas of focus.
Deputy Health Director Espen Nakstad answers questions about the crown in Norway Thursday morning:
The government presents the new measures it has decided at 11:45 am.
After a fall with a slow and moderate spread of infection, FHI refers to the spread of infection as increasing significantly in your latest weekly report. In the past 24 hours, there have been 624 new cases of infection in Norway, more over the course of a day than ever before during the pandemic. 72 municipalities have an increasing tendency to infection, shows the summary of VG.
79 percent more cases were reported last week than the previous week, they write in their latest weekly report. At the same time, they estimate in their model that 4 out of 10 cases of infection are now found, compared with 1 in 10 in March. Therefore, many more infected are now discovered than during the first wave of the pandemic.
Prime Minister Erna Solberg presents the new measures that the government has announced will arrive at 11:45. Also present will be Health Director Bjørn Guldvog at the Norwegian Health Directorate and Director Camilla Stoltenberg at FHI.
The case is being updated.
