A confident Biden announced to the American people that he has faith in victory after an intense election in the elections.
– After a long night of counting, it is clear that we are winning in enough states to reach the 270 electoral votes we need to win the presidency, Biden said during a speech Wednesday.
He emphasizes that he does not want to declare himself the winner yet, but he still does not seem to have doubts about the result.
Additionally, Biden says he is proud to win the presidency by majority vote. According to Business Insider, he has received 70 million votes before the election ends.
– Now all votes must be counted. No one should take away democracy, not now or later. We have come too far, he says during the speech.
Hours earlier, the Trump election campaign tried to stop the census in Michigan and Pennsylvania, despite the fact that several million votes had not been registered.
“We, as one people, will not be silenced, we will not be intimidated,” Biden said.

Kjell Lars Berge, professor of rhetoric at the University of Oslo, was impressed by the speech:

He thinks the level differences between Trump and Biden’s speeches are obvious:

Biden does not have the same speaking ability as Obama, the professor believes, but he shows that he is well formulated and has good speechwriters:
– Biden has only one thing to do: maintain the same ethical standard that is normal in American societies. He is not doing anything original that way.
Ask people to meet
Biden emphasized the polarized political situation in the United States, which has been made clear in the regular presidential race.
– I know how deep and hard conflicting opinions are in so many areas, but I also know that we must stop treating ourselves as enemies in order to move forward, he says.
The presidential candidate says that despite running as a Democratic candidate, he will run for president of the entire country.
– There will be no red or blue states when we win, only the United States of America, says Biden.
– When the elections are over, it will be time to do what we have always done as Americans: leave behind the harsh rhetoric of election campaigns and listen to, respect and care for each other.
Winner in Michigan
Shortly after Biden’s speech, the US news channel CNN reports that Biden will win the important state of Michigan. That gives him another 16 electoral votes.
That is, he is now six voters away from the “magic cap” of 270 needed to become the next president of the United States.
With 99 percent of the votes counted, the Fox News poll shows the former vice president has about 61,000 more votes than Donald Trump in the state.
News channels ABC and CBS News also claim that Biden won Michigan.
