Large outbreak in Åsnes and Våler municipality

Today it became known that 53 out of 82 are positive within the municipality of Åsnes and Våler. Currently several schools and a kindergarten are closing.

The municipalities of Åsnes and Våler inland report on ongoing outbreaks in the municipalities, Østlendingen writes.

A joint press release Monday afternoon claims the outbreak is worse than feared.

Of the total of 82 samples sent for testing on Saturday, 53 are positive.

– All people with a positive test result are in quarantine, the state of the municipalities.

The municipality of Åsnes reports that the Sønsterud school and Åsnes ungdomsskole will be closed from 3 to 6 November. The other schools in the municipality are changing to a red emergency.

– All schools will be closed on November 2, so school employees can be transferred to home tuition or prepare a red level of readiness, the municipality of Åsnes writes on its website.

Finnskogen kindergarten and adult education will be closed from November 2 to 6.

The outbreak is associated with a larger gathering of people under private auspices and contact with other areas where there is infection, the Åsnes municipality writes on its website.

The outbreak is not seen in relation to the outbreak that municipalities had last week.

– There are no indications of infection in sports and volunteering by. now, and therefore these activities continue as usual. If there are changes, we will inform about this, writes the municipality.

The municipalities infection detection team can reach new close contacts during the afternoon and evening.

Tonight at 6:00 p.m. there will be a joint press conference on the subject.
