On Friday this week, Inger Houghton (35), known as “Inger in Dubai”, was able to share the good news that she had given birth to two healthy twins.
Throughout her pregnancy, the 35-year-old has been open about her ailments and in the last week said her stomach ached constantly.
Although father Ian Houghton was able to report Friday that both the children and the mother were fine, it was a dramatic birth that was needed for the two children to go out into the world.
– OMG I’m so uncomfortable
“A lot of blood”
He tells Inger on Instagram Sunday. Here she says she was in so much pain Wednesday that she called the hospital and they asked her to come in for a checkup.
“I am eternally grateful for that, I cannot imagine the result if we had stayed at home that day,” she says.
Dagbladet has received permission to reproduce the publication.
He has also written a longer blog post where he tells the story of his birth. There he also writes that the twins arrived on Wednesday and that they can travel home on Sunday.

My first birth experience was, in my opinion, perfect. This time I was not so lucky. However, I am very grateful for how it turned out in the end. Because at one point I was more scared than ever in my entire life. I lost my mucus plug on Monday, but nothing else happened. My discomfort was increasing, but I couldn’t recognize the pain as the waves I felt the last time I gave birth. On Wednesday morning I was in so much pain, mainly my lower back and upper abdomen, that I decided to call the hospital just to check it out. The woman I spoke to advised me to come in, just to reassure me, I’ll always be grateful that she did. I don’t even want to imagine the outcome if we stayed home that day. At the hospital they checked the twins and saw that they were both moving well. It also turned out that the pain I was feeling was actually contractions and that it was a few inches long. I had to cry a few tears of relief because I really wanted labor to start naturally instead of being induced, and now the twins were finally arriving! I met my wonderful midwife and we settled into another room. I really wanted to have a vaginal delivery, but agreed to have an epidural in case I needed a C-section. Before I got that far, my waters broke. Or so I thought. It was blood. A lot of blood. So everything went fast. Before I knew it there were 4 doctors in the room, and one of them looked me in the eye and said, “Inger, we have to do an emergency cesarean section.” I was so scared, but I couldn’t do anything but close my eyes, fold my hands, and pray to God that our babies were safe. They took me to the consultation where a whole team was waiting. They subdued me, and when I woke up, both twins were with Ian, safe and sound. I had a placental abruption that can deprive the baby of oxygen and cause heavy bleeding in the mother (I lost almost 2 liters of blood). Thanks to the amazing SUS team who responded so quickly and delivered both babies in less than 5 minutes, we are all recovering well. I know it will take time to recover, both physically and mentally. The wound is so painful, and I feel weak, helpless and “robbed” to give birth as I wanted. But they are here. And they are healthy. #grateful
At the hospital, it was established that the delivery was underway, which was what the 35-year-old woman wanted. When having twins, it is not abnormal to start labor. Now it happened naturally.
She agreed with the midwife to insert an epidural (pain relief, journal.anm.) In case she had to undergo a C-section.
“Before we got that far, the water was gone. Or so I thought. It was blood. A lot of blood,” he writes.
Criticized during pregnancy
Urgent cesarean
So it must have gone fast. Four doctors are said to have entered the room, and Inger is said to have been told she had to perform an emergency C-section.
“I was so scared, but I couldn’t do anything but close my eyes, cross my hands, and pray to God that our babies were safe.”
Then they put her under anesthesia, and when she woke up it was with twins and her husband in front of her.
Inger explains that she had a premature detachment of the placenta, which can lead to oxygen deprivation in babies and heavy bleeding in the mother.
However, he thanks the team at Stavanger University Hospital for everything went well. However, she does not hide the fact that it takes time to heal after birth, both mentally and physically.
“The wound is so painful, and I feel weak, defenseless and ‘stolen’ from a birth I wanted. But they are here. And they are healthy,” the post ends.
Eliminate with ailments
As mentioned, the 35-year-old has had frequent updates on her pregnancy and not all of them have been positive.
In late September, the 35-year-old said she did not recall experiencing so many ailments during her previous pregnancy.
In a post on Instagram, the training influencer wrote as late as this week that she feels very uncomfortable and in pain every day.
“My pelvis hurts, my back hurts, my feet are swollen and almost everything gives me heartburn. However, the worst thing is the stomach pain. It’s so hard and tender and it honestly looks like it’s going to break. I know that it will be worth it, but please, babies, come out. We want to meet you “, was between what he wrote to a photo of his very pregnant belly.
Wild Luxury Life: – Absolutely Crazy
When Dagbladet spoke to her, she knew that she was actually singing in the last verse and that she felt ready to get the twins out.
Now the wait was over, half a year after the couple revealed that their daughter Kaia was to be an older sister, to a boy and a girl.
That’s why they leave dubai
The Houghton couple have been famous for several years as they both have popular workout accounts on social media.
While Inger is originally from Egersund, her husband is from Sandnes, and it was the latter’s English father who gave them the idea for Dubai.
Earlier this year, however, the couple was able to reveal that they would be moving to Norway to become closer to the family considering they were expecting twins. A short time ago, they finally took over their dream home.
