(Kristiansund – Bodø / Glimt 2–3) Elite Series top scorer Amahl Pellegrino (30) organized his 20th goal, and should have scored in the final minutes too. Instead, Kasper Junker (26) appeared and staged another victory for the league leader.
– It was too far, but hold on. We have already played 23 games, and we have to fight for some victories, as it should be in a marathon season. Good teams can do it too, Glimt’s coach Kjetil Knutsen told Europsport after watching the players claim their 20th win of the season.
But it definitely could have leaned the other way. In the 86th minute, Pellegrino missed only with Glimt goalkeeper Nikita Khajkin, at the 2-2 position. After a short fight with the defender, Victor Boniface finally got the ball home.

In the 89th minute came the winning goal. Alfons Sampsted’s post was perfect, and acrobatic Kasper Junker made it 3-2. It was his 16th goal this season, and the goal ensures Glimt can secure league gold as early as the next round.
– It feels really good. On a day when we don’t do as well as we should, it’s great to come home with three points, match winner Junker told Eurosport.
– It was a typical Junker goal. There are not many who are better than him in those situations in Norway. Not surprisingly, it was him, but incredibly delicious, Knutsen said.
With seven games to play, Glimt has a 16-point advantage over Molde, and must win at home against table leaders Aalesund. Molde must also lose at home to Kristiansund next weekend to secure the gold.
In any case, Bodø / Glimt are champions if they win two more matches.
But Glimt really had to fight for victory in Kristiansund. The home team created a lot and lived up to the league leader.
– I think we started the game badly, but then we went out a bit. We have an advantage with us until the break. We have great opportunities in the second half, but there will be a fight until the end, summarizes Glimt player Patrick Berg for Eurosport.
Pellegrino’s early score
Pellegrino put Kristiansund in the lead on the fifth minute when he alone with the goalkeeper was safe and scored his 20th goal of the season. He celebrated by taking off his suit and showing a T-shirt with the number 20. It cost him a yellow card.
Glimt tied for Vegard Leikvoll Moberg, who fought the ball into the net after a pass from Philip Zinckernagel inside the area.
In extra time in the first half, the team awarded a penalty when an unfortunate Christophe Psyché kicked in the foot of Moberg, who was the first on the ball in a duel on the field.
The penalty kicked Junker into the net just under the crossbar, and Glimt went into the break with a somewhat lucky lead.
Kristiansund created a couple of big chances early in the second half, while Junker was able to increase the lead when he missed only with the goalkeeper.
Deserved compensation
It was the home team that created the most, and Bendik Bye deservedly tied at 2-2 after a corner kick in the 79th minute before Pellegrino squandered a great opportunity to make it 3-2 for Kristiansund.
Substitute Faris Pemi also had a couple of great chances at the rear, but KBK finished without points.
– Soccer is brutal. We meet the best team in Norway and we give them a fight. “It would not have been undeserved if we had caught something here,” a disappointed Pellegrino told Eurosport.
Kristiansund is in sixth place and has nine points to Rosenborg in third.
– We drive in periods, but I think we are good in first place and periods in second. I believe that we are the ones who have pressed in the period that they decide. Today is a good attempt from KBK, Christian Michelsen told Eurosport.
