Gjert Ingebrigtsen didn’t like that 18-year-old Jakob Ingebrigtsen wanted to live with his girlfriend Elisabeth Asserson in the winter after double gold at the European Championships in Berlin. There was a crisis in the family, reveals mother Tone Ingebrigtsen in a new book entitled “Always a mother.”
Gjert Ingebrigtsen’s book “The Art of Raising a World Champion” became a bestseller in 2018. Now it is mother Tone who brings us to life in what is a completely ordinary and extremely unusual family.
Tone Ingebrigtsen told VG during Thursday’s book launch in Oslo that his father and successful coach, Gjert, did not like the fact that his son wants to move in with his Elisabeth. In his book “The Art of Raising a World Champion”, Gjert Ingebrigtsen admitted that he had faced the news that his son Henrik would become a father, very badly.
– Are you a complete idiot or? so.
– Are you trying to destroy everything we have built by having a young man in the middle of the investment ?, was the immediate reaction of Gjert Ingebrigtsen according to the book.
