– We are concerned about the development in Oslo. Over time, there has been a fairly high infection pressure, health director Bjørn Guldvog tells NRK.
The day before, 68 new cases of infection were registered, according to the municipality of Oslo. 14 of the 15 districts of the capital have a red level. On Friday, City Councilor Raymond Johansen (Labor Party) announced that there may be new and stricter measures to stop the rise in corona infection.
– Depending on development in the coming days, we will consider implementing new and stricter measures next week, said Johansen.
Arrow points down in Bergen – up in Oslo
The infection situation in Bergen has attracted a lot of attention in recent weeks. While the situation appears to flatten out in Bergen, the infection is nevertheless spreading in Oslo.
Infection figures were stable at around 100 new infections per week in August and early September, but last week the number rose to 210. This is the highest number recorded in a single week since April. So far this week, 245 cases have already been registered.
The health director notes that the capital has good capacity when it comes to infection testing and says they have a reasonable overview of the situation.
– I also know that we are working well in Oslo to get a stronger package of measures so that we can hopefully reduce the infection. And I think there is now a basis for that, he says.
You can enter a maximum limit of ten people.
It’s natural to look at Bergen and the measures that were introduced there to overcome the outbreak, health adviser Robert Steen told NTB on Friday.
This can mean rules that fewer people can gather (a maximum of ten people in private and 50 at public events), as well as rules that guests must identify themselves at nightclubs. In addition, there are more home offices and fewer visits to health institutions.
– What they have implemented of local measures in terms of group size and service seems to have had a positive effect, said Steen.
