Astrid Smeplass tells a sad and at the same time pleasant breakup with Halvor Marstrander, who until recently was his manager.

As VG was able to see in March, the pop star and manager now go their separate ways after six years of collaboration.

A collaboration that has produced numerous successes, fame, and accolades, if not as much financial benefit.

In an interview with Costume, Smeplass now talks about what he thinks about the end of the collaboration.

There, he says he thought the meeting manager had asked to be seriously questioned, since Marstrander had not used emoji in a text message beforehand.

– They kept each other around

– I remember saying that it was fucking good during the day. And then I realized it was weird. Then I realized: now it is going to come with some news that probably did not make me feel so good anymore. And then she said she had been offered a job offer. And then I quickly realized that … yes, she tells the fashion magazine.

– Otherwise, I realized how much I wanted to say. How important it has been in my life. Then we cry. The sun was as strong against the window as it is here now, strong. They kept one around the other. It was actually very nice. Emotionally. But I felt surprisingly calm. As soon as he said it, it felt good. And good

The wardrobe interview reveals that Smeplass is unsure how the road will be handled, and that she is nonetheless very grateful to her former partner.

– very hard

– Mainly I thought I was sick of him to make that decision. The choice is beyond me, but I understood that that was the right choice for him, that the new job was something he really wanted. So I think it was really difficult. And I realize that it makes a lot of sense for me to do it.

Halvor Marstrander tells VG that he has read the entire wardrobe interview and thinks he “looks amazing”.

“The entire interview is a pleasant, moving and fun description of the journey we have taken together,” says Marstrander, who now works with artist development on the Warner Music label.

VG has contacted Universal, Astrid S’s record label, to comment on this matter, so far with no response.

Universal CEO Bjørn Rogstad previously informed VG that the new manager is not in place and that they will handle Smeplass’ career for now.
