Nintendo this week revealed a very recent update for Super Mario Maker 2, with some pretty complete innovations. The update, which will be released for free on April 22, features, among other things, World Maker, which allows you to create your own Mario games.
With World Maker, players can shrink up to eight worlds with up to 40 of the boards you created yourself. As the video at the top of the article shows, worlds can be adapted in various ways, including snow, sand, bridges, and stairs.
As with the individual boards in Super Mario Maker 2, you can also share your worlds with other players, since you have a Nintendo Switch Online membership.
More features and objects
Along with World Maker, the week’s update offers a host of innovations that players can use to decorate their boards. For example, a new type of Mario mushroom gives you the properties it has in Super Mario Bros. 2, so you can jump on enemies and collect them.
Otherwise, Nintendo promises to revisit things like Super Mario Bros. 3’s frog costume, Super Mario 3D World’s boomerang flower, and the seven heroes of the Koopalings gang.
