British Prime Minister Boris Johnson (55) and resident Carrie Symonds (32) have become parents to a healthy boy.
Announces the couple on Wednesday morning, according to Sky news.
The boy was born in a London hospital on Wednesday morning, and should be very good for both the mother and the child, according to a spokesman for the couple.
– The Prime Minister and Symonds want to thank the fantastic delivery team on the NHS (British Health Service, journal. Note), says the spokesperson.
Reuters reports Wednesday afternoon that the prime minister is back at work on Downing Street after attending the delivery.
“The prime minister was with Symonds earlier this morning for the birth of his son, and is now back at work at number 10. I think he will take a short paternity leave later this year,” the spokesperson said.
In late February it was known that the inhabitants expected to have children. Then Symonds said the baby was waiting in the early summer.
The engaged couple has been living at 10 Downing Street in London since July last year, along with foster dog Dilyn.
According to the BBC, they are the first single couple to have lived in the Prime Minister’s residence.
Johnson has four adult children with attorney and ex-wife Marina Wheeler and one son (born 2009) with art consultant Helen MacIntyre.
Seriously ill with covid-19
There have been a few dramatic weeks for the couple, after Johnson was diagnosed with covid-19 in late March.
Ten days later he was admitted to St. Thomas Hospital in London, and the following day he had to be transferred to the intensive care unit.
Several times during the course of the illness, the Prime Minister assured people that he was fine. He continued to lead the country for a long time and held daily digital crisis meetings, despite having symptoms like cough and fever.

When Johnson’s condition worsened, Foreign Minister Dominic Raab took over as prime minister when necessary.
On April 12, he was released from the hospital and even said that “he could have gone both ways.”
“There were times in the last week when it seemed very dark,” Symonds told Reuters about Boris’ condition.
The pregnant fiancé was also in bed for a time with symptoms similar to those of covid-19. He tweeted on April 4 that it had improved. But he was not tested for the virus.

On Monday of this week, Johnson returned to work entirely.
The prime minister has been severely criticized for his handling of the crown crisis, and has been accused of killing thousands of people because of the viral illness.
Johnson has been divorced twice and, according to Reuters, declines to indicate how many children his father is.
Johnson was charged with adultery in 2004 and 2006. In 2004, he was fired as one of the Conservative Party’s deputy leaders because he lied about an out-of-wedlock relationship.
